Department of English

About-Department

The Department of English is as old as the college. Founded in 1990, the Department boasts of highly qualified staff. Four faculty members teach core and elective subjects in English. English is taught as a compulsory subject, second language to Arts, Commerce & Science faculty.

English is taught as an optional subject to Arts faculty. The Department also offers postgraduate course in English. The Department also conducts Spoken English Crash Course for first year students in the beginning of the year. The Department is actively engaged in research and co-curricular activities.

Achievement of the Department

1.Nausheen Begum Shaikh Saleem got the 8th rank in University topper list of B.A in March/April 2019.
2.Department of English organized an online National Seminar on Translation on 25 January 2021.
3.Proceeding of the online National Seminar on Translation on 25 January 2021 was published entitled Translation Studies.
4.Shaikh Muskan Rehman received gold medal at B.A. exams in 2021.
5.Syed Zahir Abbas and Mohammed Ahmeduddin were awarded Ph.D. in English in 2022 by Dr. BAMU, Aurangabad and S.R.T.M.U, Nanded respectively.
